About the Artist
Stephanie Kirkland is an artist from Dothan Alabama. As a child she always knew she wanted to be an artist when she “grew up”. Her parents supported her pursuits by supplying her with drawing paper and paint kits. This love of art continued and lead her to attend Auburn University Montgomery, where she received her Bachelors of Art with a Marketing emphasis.
After college, she began working as a graphic designer and, within the first 6 months, was promoted to Art director. While with this firm, Stephanie focused on branding startup businesses and conceptualizing full marketing strategies.
In 2011, Stephanie moved to Huntsville, Alabama. Here she continued to freelance her art, which included digital and traditional forms. She focused mostly on chalk pastels initially and received accolades from the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. As time moved on, she began to experiment more with acrylic paints and decided to share her love of art with others by teaching paint parties.
About the Business
Huemanity Studios is a paint and crafting studio. We aim to bring art into everyone’s lives. Art helps to develop critical thinking in children and serves as a stress and anxiety reliever for adults. Studies have shown that art is also beneficial to mental health in older adults. It also gives you a sense of accomplishment and will help you meet new friends who share the same interests.
Our goal is to be the hub for art in North Huntsville. We aim to inspire the community to see the beauty in the small things and to provide an creative outlet for all ages to explore new avenues.
